Science-communication: Integrative Neuroscience Association (INA)
The Integrative Neuroscience Association (INA) is a Lithuanian NGO that gathers young Lithuanian neuroscientists to promote the broad development and application of neuroscience for diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive purposes. INA works in three main areas: (1) Education and Outreach, (2) Encouraging Science and Innovation, (3) Advocacy and Equity. My main focus at INA is on the “Education and Outreach” area. Here is a list of educational activities that I have been a part of:
- Wrote a 14-week-long weekly blog called “Morning Coffee Science”. The blog seeks to introduce the general public to various topics in neuroscience in English and Lithuanian. The articles can be accessed: https://www.integrativeneuroscience.org/naujienos?lang=en
- Lead the creative team in making the July campaign on “neuroscience and business”. Here is a sample writing about Neuralink: https://www.integrativeneuroscience.org/post/neuralink-bringing-consumer-friendly-brain-machine-interface-device-to-users?lang=en
- Co-organized the first INA conference called “NeuroMaratonas” (eng. “NeuroMarathon”). The Facebook event link can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2797799583863909
- Host of the podcast “Ryto Neurosuktinis su Matu” which interviewed the most prominent Lithuanian professionals that work with brains. The Podcast can be found on all major streaming platforms like Spotify and iTunes.
- Conducted a one-week-long crash course for neuroscience amateurs that have not had any formal neuroscience training on the topic of nerve agents.
